A Soft Place to Land is a weekend retreat for women seeking rest, reconnection, and gentle community in the midst of a busy and uncertain world.

Over three magical nights and days together we will slow down, immerse ourselves in nature, move our bodies through yoga and dance, experience sound and earth-centered practices, create with our hands, share nourishing meals, and so much more!

This gathering is an invitation to fill your cup, whether that means attending every single offering or giving yourself some much needed space. We believe strongly that nature is the ultimate healer, and the incredible mountains of the Bitterroot Valley attest to this.

Come exactly as you are, leave a little more resourced.

Place

The retreat will be hosted at a beautiful lodge two thousand feet above the Bitterroot Valley of Montana. It is located on 140 acres of open forest land and wildflower fields with spectacular panoramic views. With a stunning outdoor yoga deck, sauna, hot tub with mountain views, access to amazing hiking trails, and so much more, it is the perfect place for whatever rest or play you are seeking. The Lodge is a twenty-minute drive to Hamilton, the Bitterroot Valley's largest town, making it the perfect remote escape while retaining access to anything you may need. Think: rustic but comfortable, outdoor-indoor living.

The Bitterroot Valley (named after the bitterroot plant- a vital food source in the nutrient-rich region) is the ancestral homeland of the Salish people, the original stewards who tended these sacred mountains for over 12,000 years. Our intention for being with this land is to tread lightly and pour back into it with our loving energy and deep gratitude. As a tangible offering of this intention, 10% of every ticket sold will be redistributed to Friends of the Children- Flathead Nation, an indigenous led organization that partners with tribal community leaders to connect youth and families to their culture and heritage.

When dreaming of this offering, making it as financially accessible as possible was and remains of upmost priority. We believe that everyone deserves this time to rest in community and nature, and we know that taking any potential time off/traveling can still act as major barriers. In our hopes to ease as much financial load as possible, we have taken a break-even approach where the ticket cost is the exact cost we are paying to make it happen. our intention is to create a beautiful experience for everyone involved, not make a profit.
we are Offering one fully-funded scholarship spot. If you feel called to join but finances are a barrier, we invite you to apply by emailing us directly.

We are a pair of best friends who haven’t stopped sharing adventures near and far after meeting in East Africa when we were 18. One of these adventures happened to take us through the stunning terrain and wild spirit of Montana, where we both have continued to feel called to in our own ways. The awe-inspiring mountains, incredible fresh water swims, and bright pink 9 pm sunsets make it impossible to forget.

We always dreamed of creating something special together, and when Maytal met the owner of the lodge during her own adventure hiking the PCT, it felt like the aligned, Universe-supported nudge we needed.

We remain connected by our curious spirits, playful and intuitive approaches to life, resiliency and pursuit of healing, shared tendencies to get lost in foreign countries, passion for sharing what we have come to know with others, and the love of a hot yummy meal at the end of a hot yummy day. We value a deep conversation as much as a full-blown belly laugh, and we expect to have plenty of both during this gathering.

Meet your Facilitators

Hi, I’m MD!

she/her

The healing power of sound has carried me through the peaks and valleys of my life, remaining as my most precious, direct contact to the ~source~, and I am so honored to share this practice with you. My intention is to bring people back in connection with their bodies, each other, the earth and beyond in the midst of deeply harmful systems that are designed to disconnect. I strive to balance the heavy with the humorous, holding tightly to the sentiment that expanding our joy and pleasure (especially as women) is one of the most sacred and radical things we can do. Let’s have some fun. :)

Hi, I’m Maytal!

she/her

I remember being a little kid at my first yoga class. I was 10 and right next to my mom. Mat by mat. Breath by breath. Together. Over the last 17 years, my yogic practice has grown like a tree - rooting down and reaching out. My practice and teaching style are focused on stillness - grounded in the reality that the world is fast. Our yoga mat gives us space to slow down, to breathe, to close our eyes, and to quiet the noise around us. This practice and this movement is sacred and rooted in reverence. I can't wait to settle into the Bitterroot valley with all of you and land in the softness of community, sisterhood, movement, sound, and earth all while embracing the silliness of our tiny little lives.

This retreat has been a dream for years - each of you are making so many of our dreams come true. Thank you, thank you, thank you <3
